Standard 7:  Multimodal Literacies

Students will acquire, refine, and share knowledge through a variety of written, oral, visual, digital, non-verbal, and interactive texts.

 

WRITING: Students will create multimodal texts to communicate knowledge and develop arguments.

Instructional Guidance

 

Developing

  • Work with students in small groups or independently showing students how to use apps step-by-step. Partner students who have a strong understanding of using the apps with a students who is still learning. Coach stronger students to model use and allow partners to help in process.

Approaching

  • In a whole group setting, model how to use a variety of apps such as Seesaw, Chatterpix, and/or Puppet pals to support communication.

Understanding

  • Allow students to use apps for communication for fun and to support class activities, with guidance and support. 

Deeper Acquisition

  • Give students opportunities to mentor students who are struggling with app use
  • Provide guidance and support while moving higher students to the next level by modeling more in depth activities using the apps.
