Have students watch the tutorial about academic writing and plagiarism. They write down information using Cornell notes and also practice the quizzes. Use the flipped-classroom idea. They bring their notes to class and participate in a Socratic Discussion.

Approaching  Review research vocabulary and how to write research questions, thesis statements, summaries, paraphrases, and citations., note cards, and source cards.  Use a Gallery Walk, stations, or a scavenger hunt for this review.

Deeper

They choose an idea, write research questions, come up with a thesis statement, use sources, and notes from the sources, and present their ideas in a digital or print format. They are choosing their ideas, what they want to do with it, and the sources and information they would use to showcase their ideas.
