Approaching |
Review research vocabulary and how to write research questions, thesis statements, summaries, paraphrases, and citations., note cards, and source cards. Use a Gallery Walk, stations, or a scavenger hunt for this review.
Understanding |
Have students work in groups to create research questions, write a thesis statement, and find sources. Students could create notecards (or utilize another medium such as Google docs) to organize their information with citations for each source.
Deeper
Acquisition
They choose an idea, write research questions, come up with a thesis statement, use sources, and notes from the sources, and present their ideas in a digital or print format. They are choosing their ideas, what they want to do with it, and the sources and information they would use to showcase their ideas.
