Instructional Guidance

Developing |
Students may need encouragement to explore and choose books of interest to them. Provide a variety of text and encourage them to explore books that may normally choose on their own. The best way to do this is through read-alouds.

Approaching |
Allow students to have a choice of a variety of literature to review and analyze for independent reading pleasure.
|
Understanding |
During independent reading time conferences gives students goals and strategies for reading.
|
Deeper
Acquisition
|
Encourage students to read books that they have not read before. Introduce them to new series and/or authors. Allow time to read for enjoyment with discussion opportunities with peers.
