Developing  Categorize and sort words into specific parts of speech.  Work in small groups and one on one to provide  Scaffolding activities that tap into prior knowledge.  Use visual aids and provide graphic organizers.
Approaching  Provide scaffolding and guiding questions. Teachers use anchor charts  such as:   anchor charts , interactive notebook, think alouds, songs, Preposition song  peer partners, class discussions, play charades, movement games and more to recognize and build comprehension of the different parts of speech that is embedded in the text we are teaching such as   Go Fishing for Grammar  Identify Parts of Speech  Creative ideasVerbs  Subject-Verb agreement  offer opportunities for students to be actively engaged and make connections.
