Developing  Read story aloud. At the end of sections ask questions. Call on students and guide them toward the discussion.Speaking and Listening Activities
Approaching  Read story aloud. At end of sections have students restate what was read. They will ask questions to teachers and each other to clarify what they didn’t understand.
Understanding  Read story aloud. At end of sections stop and ask questions. Students will respond according to established discussion rules.

Deeper

Acquisition 

As you read stories aloud, have students write out questions. At end of sections have students create 10 test questions. Ask those questions the next day as a reminder of the previous day.
