Instructional Guidance
Developing |
- Pull short sections of texts from different genres. Have students group the sections of text with the appropriate genre based off of patterns.
Approaching |
- Students independently read a short section of text and, thinking about how they would verbally paraphrase to a partner, write their paraphrased information into Cornell Notes.
Understanding |
- Bring back the sections of text from the developing stage and have students identify why each one falls under the respective genre.
Deeper
Acquisition
- Have students create generalizations. Once they have created their generalization have them share with the class. The other students in the class must decide if the generalization is valid or faulty.
