 Instructional Guidance

Developing  Brainstorm what students know about a topic. Ask what they know about this topic, and what experience they have if any with this topic. Record their ideas on the board.  Show students a graphic organizer such as a T-chart to record the differences.
Approaching  Have students watch a video segment or other media. As a class, record student responses to similarities and differences using the T-chart. As their ideas are discussed,  provide a selective group of questions about the topic to provide possible responses to those questions.
Understanding  Provide a different video segment.  In small groups, have students complete a T-chart to analyze the meaning of the video, generating their own questions to increase knowledge of the selected media.

Deeper

Acquisition

Have students choose their own media to analyze and individually complete a graphic organizer to promote their own questions to create better understanding.
