Standard 7: Multimodal Literacy

Students will acquire, refine, and share knowledge through a variety of written, oral, visual, digital, non-verbal, and interactive texts. 

WRITING: Students will create multimodal texts to communicate knowledge and develop arguments. 
9.7.W.2 Students will create engaging visual and/or multimedia presentations, using a variety of media forms to enhance understanding of findings, reasoning, and evidence for diverse audiences.

  • Multimodal presentations should be tailored toward a specific audience, according to the intended purpose.

  • Students can create presentations for younger and/or older students to reach a wider variety of audiences in addition to their teacher.

  • The medium selected to present content should appeal to the intended audience and purpose.

Due to recursive nature of the standards, it is essential that teachers are aware of how all objectives within and between strands work together for optimal instruction.
