-
Teachers model how to create a list of topics of interest. For example, start with a broad topic (games) and then narrow it down to 2-3 topics (electronic, board, card, inside/outside) that students can choose to start a list.
-
Teachers provide opportunities for students to create a list of topics of interest.
-
Teachers monitor and provide opportunities for students to receive feedback.
-
Teachers model how to create an individual question about one specific topic of interest they choose from their list.

-
Teachers model creating a list inside a list. Create an initial list as a class, post in the classroom, and allow students to add to it as your unit progresses. This can be integrated across the curriculum in your classroom. When studying Oklahoma history, use the information you are already learning in class to encourage students to generate a list of things they still would like to know.

Teacher Insights

|
- The intent of this standard is that students can narrow down a topic and develop questions that are directly related to it.
- This provides an opportunity to challenge students and increase rigor by teaching them to ask questions with a greater Depth of Knowledge (Website).
|
Due to recursive nature of the standards, it is essential that teachers are aware of how all objectives within and between strands work together for optimal instruction.
