  • At this level, students are just recognizing pronouns and possessive nouns; they are not required to independently identify them.

  • Pronouns are words that take the place of nouns.

    • Pronouns are an important part of our language, and speech becomes awkward without them.

    • Types of pronouns

  • A possessive noun indicates ownership between one thing and another.

    • To identify a possessive with a singular noun or a plural noun that does not end in s, an apostrophe and an s will be added to the end.

    • To identify a possessive with a plural noun that ends in s, look for words with just an apostrophe at the end.This includes plural nouns that end in ies.
