  • Students need clear and concise directions when giving requests such as with the following:
    • “Read the story, complete the graphic organizer, then draw the setting on the back of your paper.”
  • Directions at this age may be oral or written.

Due to recursive nature of the standards, it is essential that teachers are aware of how all objectives within and between strands work together for optimal instruction.
