  • The intent of this standard is that students create meaning for an audience with word choice with guidance and support.

    • For Kindergarten, the written form mainly looks like a drawing. Drawings can be simple with just the main character, or drawings can be complex with the main character, supporting character, and a setting.

Due to recursive nature of the standards, it is essential that teachers are aware of how all objectives within and between strands work together for optimal instruction.
