Concept Sorting webpage
  • Sorting is the act of separating things and putting them in a particular order.

  • An attribute is a characteristic that is ascribed to something. When students sort words, they are looking for words with similar characteristics and then grouping those words together.

  • The intent of this standard is that students can sort tangible objects by commonalities such as color, concepts (food, sports), or other attributes.

Due to recursive nature of the standards, ensure to be cognizant of how all of the objectives within and between strands work together for optimal instruction.
