"The Next Draft: A Student Writing Contest on the 250th Anniversary of the United States" is a writing contest celebrating language and literature’s role in shaping our understanding of the past and future of the United States. The contest is open to students in grades 9-12 with a top prize of $1,000 and a deadline of September 30. Read the contest details.

The Oklahoma Standards Satchel showcases the Oklahoma Academic Standards using the Competencies and Academic Standards Exchange (CASE) format from Common Good Learning. It provides a unique digital identifier for each standard objective, allowing for integration of standards across educational platforms and learning management systems. Introduction

The newest version of the Oklahoma Academic Standards for English Language Arts were adopted in the spring of 2021. The Oklahoma State Department of Education wishes to ensure all Oklahoma educators deeply understand the recursive nature of reading and writing to fully meet the intent of the standards. This website supports educators with resources that promote implementing the standards with fidelity.
