With guidance and support:
- Students will write using words that are appropriate for the purpose of the writing task.
|
Students at this level require guidance and support during instructional opportunities for this objective.
- Teachers use a shared writing experience to demonstrate using appropriate words for various writing tasks. (eg. opinion, persuasive, narrative, informative, etc..)
- Teachers provide opportunities for students to contribute appropriate words to the shared writing.
- Teachers provide opportunities for students to practice selecting appropriate words in small groups and independently.
- Teachers monitor and provide opportunities for students to receive feedback as students use appropriate language for various writing purposes.
